Mega Geable is a Mega Man sprite comic created by Andrusi. It is a remake and revival of Andrusi's comic of the same name from 2002.
A sprite comic is a form of art that takes sprites--pixelated images derived from, or designed to resemble, the graphics found in old video games--and arranges them to form comic strips. They were first invented around the turn of the millennium, and became popular in the early to mid-2000s when well-known examples such as Bob and George rose to prominence, though widespread interest in the form had waned by the end of the decade.
Mega Man is a series of video games made by Capcom. Most of them are about a little robot boy who fights bad robots. If you want to know more, there are numerous websites dedicated to documenting the franchise in exhaustive detail.
No. Mega Geable (2023) is written under the express assumption that I am literally the only person who remembers anything at all about Mega Geable (2002). Reading the old version is highly discouraged: it's poorly written, it's frequently ugly to look at, much of the humor has aged very poorly, and none of its continuity applies to this version. Also, none of the websites that hosted it at various points are around anymore, so in order to find it in the first place your computer would have to be haunted or something.
I recommend Bob and George to anyone interested in sprite comics who hasn't read it already, but it isn't necessary in order to understand Mega Geable.
I really liked that one and I'm still sad that it ended, but no, you don't have to have read those either. You might occasionally see characters from the Archie comic pop up, but more as cameos than as anyone whose deal you really need to understand.
Similar deal. I might borrow an idea from them on occasion but I'm not going to be building off of the manga.
No, although I like their design for Fire Man.
I actually like that one more than most people seem to, but it isn't relevant here, either.
Man, I can't even find my copy of that.
Do you have any real questions or are you just naming every obscure Mega Man tie-in you can think of?
As of this writing, Captain SNES hasn't updated in a while, but it isn't officially dead yet and it's gone through longer delays than this before. I'm rooting for you, JayDee!
